Aurora — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By adding Aurora to your Discord server or interacting with the bot in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use immediately.

Aurora is a Discord bot operated by an independent developer. These terms govern your access to and use of the bot and all related services.

2. Description of Service

Aurora is an AI-powered Discord bot that provides:

Daily coding questions and topic-based practice
Solution submission and XP-based gamification
A personal notes system (second brain)
AI-powered Q&A for coding, CS theory, and interview preparation
Leaderboards and streak tracking

The service is provided "as is" and may be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Aurora, in compliance with Discord's own Terms of Service. By using the bot, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Conduct

When using Aurora, you agree not to:

Abuse, exploit, or attempt to disrupt the bot or its infrastructure
Submit malicious code, spam, or harmful content through any command
Use the bot to harass, threaten, or harm other users
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the bot's source code or AI models
Use automated tools to interact with the bot at scale without permission
Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines while using Aurora

Violation of these rules may result in being blocked from using Aurora without notice.

5. Data and Content

What we store: Your Discord user ID, XP, streak data, submitted solutions, and notes you create. We do not store your Discord password, email, or any private messages.

Your content: Notes and code submissions you create through Aurora remain your intellectual property. By submitting content, you grant Aurora a limited license to store and display it back to you within the bot's functionality.

AI interactions: Questions sent to the AI assistant are processed by third-party AI providers. These interactions are not permanently stored by Aurora but may be subject to the AI provider's own data policies.

6. Disclaimers

Aurora is an educational tool and does not guarantee accuracy of AI-generated responses
The bot is not a substitute for professional career advice, legal counsel, or academic instruction
Coding solutions and explanations are for learning purposes only
Uptime is not guaranteed — the service may experience downtime for maintenance or technical issues
XP, streaks, and leaderboard data may be reset during major updates

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aurora and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the bot. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to Aurora at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. This includes but is not limited to violations of these terms, abuse of the service, or behavior that negatively impacts other users.

You may stop using Aurora at any time by simply not interacting with the bot or removing it from your server.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of Aurora after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
